Programs Overview Accent
Reduction, Inc. specializes in improving the intelligibility of individuals with accented speech, helping them to communicate more effectively in the American business and professional world.
- Our courses are 13 to 14 weeks in duration, with each class 1.5 to 2 hours in length.
- Classes meet once a week.
- There is no fee for the initial consultation/evaluation.
- Each course is customized and individualized based upon each person's error patterns.
- All courses are taught by certified Speech-Language Pathologists.
- There is an objective before/after measure of improvement.
- Small group classes, from 2 to 5 students, are offered for individuals with an average command of English pronunciation.
- For individuals with very strong foreign accents, those who wish to work on specific projects or goals, or those who have erratic work schedules, we offer individual classes.
- There are weekly home assignments for both the group and individual courses.
- A 50% to 70% reduction in one's foreign accent is typical after the completion of our course.
- Class times and locations are flexible. Evening classes are available. Classes can either be held at our offices in Southfield, MI or at the individual's place of business.

For persons whose primary difficulty is the pronunciation of English sounds ...
- Each course is customized and individualized based upon each person's sound error patterns.
- Small group classes, from 2 to 5 students, are offered for individuals with an average command of the English language. This course consists of a one hour evaluation session, 12 two-hour weekly class sessions,
and one private tutoring session.
- We offer individual classes for persons with very strong foreign accents, or those who wish to work on specific projects or goals. This course consists of a one hour evaluation session and 13 one and a half hour
weekly sessions.
- Materials are available on cassette tapes or CD-ROM (for PC and Macintosh)

For persons who have difficulty with the stress, intonation and rhythm patterns of English ...
- Class size can vary from three to ten people.
- The course is offered in two modules:
- Each module is 7 weeks in length, approximately two hours per week.
- A client may take Module I or both modules; Module II cannot be taken without first taking Module I.
[ TOP] Advanced Accent Reduction
An advanced course for those who wish to continue practicing the sounds and skills learned in the previous
course(s) and/or practice idioms and conversational speech. Consists of thirteen 1.5 hour weekly sessions. Custom Courses or Seminars can be designed to meet your needs
